| Muito
tempo faz em que o dia era feito só de luz, e os índios cansados
da luz intensa, enviaram dois guerreiros em procura da Dona da Escuridão. Ela morava no meio da floresta, e os aguardava secretamente. Quando chegaram falaram para ela, que era difícil e tormentoso o sono de toda tribo e lhe pediram ajuda. A Cobra Grande deu para os homens uma cabaça cheia de escuridão, e falou: –Vocês só abrirão esta cabaça com a presença de toda a tribo. Os índios voltaram rapidamente. Mas a curiosidade fez com que eles parassem para ver como era a escuridão. Assim que abriram a escuridão se espalhou como um raio e o céu escureceu imediatamente . Todos os perigos do mundo também. Esta foi a punição, da cobra pelo egoísmo dos dois índios. |

| A long
time does that the day was only made of light, and the Indians tired of
the intense light, sent two warriors search the Lady of the Darkness. She lived in the middle of the forest, and she awaited them privately. When they arrived they spoke for her, that was difficult and stormy the sleep of every tribe and they asked for her help. The Big Snake gave for the men a gourd full of darkness, and she spoke: –You only open this gourd with the presence of the whole tribe. The Indians returned quickly. But the curiosity did they stopped to see how the darkness was. As soon as they opened the gourd the darkness it dispersed as a ray and the sky darkened immediately. All the dangers of the world also come together. This was the punishment, of the snake for the selfishness of the two Indians. |
